Bloomfield, NJ – Restaurants and eateries can now apply for their outdoor dining permit for the 2024 season. The application can be found here. Outdoor dining runs from April 1 to November 30 and all businesses that plan on putting out outdoor furniture must obtain a permit.
“I’m so glad we are once again waiving the application fee for outdoor dining to help the small businesses of Bloomfield,” said Mayor Ted Gamble. “I hope many of our local restaurants will take advantage of this because there is nothing better than enjoying a nice meal outside, just as the weather begins to turn towards spring!”
The Bloomfield Council has once again waived the fee, so there is no cost associated with the permit. Still, all eateries are asked to fill out an application if they plan on putting any outdoor furniture out this spring and summer.
“The start of outdoor dining always feels a bit like a reawakening after a long winter hibernation,” said Gamble. “Nothing feels more like a community than a stroll downtown filled with the laughter and chatter of residents enjoying a cup of coffee or a meal in the spring sun.”
The application consists of four parts, a design, a statement, insurance, and an indemnification and maintenance agreement. Businesses can submit it electronically or drop it off at the clerk’s office.
