BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Township of Bloomfield is excited to announce the grand re-opening and open house tour of Oakeside Mansion on Saturday, June 25, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Township assumed management of the Cultural Asset a year ago and had been diligently working on facility maintenance as well as the framework to make this beautiful space more accessible and available to our residents.

“I’m looking forward to seeing my friends and neighbors come out to support this local historical asset,” said Mayor Michael Venezia of the reopening event. “Please bring your family and a picnic, and join me as we explore Oakeside Mansion and its grounds!”

The community is invited to bring a picnic lunch or enjoy free refreshments, including hot dogs, pizza, and Italian ices - and to explore Oakeside Mansion and its grounds. The afternoon will include:

2:15 pm – Welcome Remarks by Mayor Venezia, Cultural Preservation Director, and Councilwoman Jenny Mundell

  • 2:00 – 3:30 pm – Activities for children and adults, including henna tattoos and sand art
  • 3:00 – 4:00 pm – Music provided by Bloomfield High Schools Pulse String Company
  • 3:00 – 3:30 pm – Demo Class by Shooting Star Dance Studio
  • 3:00 – 6:00 pm – House Open for Self Guided Tours
  • 5:30 – 6:00 pm – Yoga Class Demos for Children and Adults

“I am pleased to now be working alongside the Mayor, fellow Council members, Advisory committee, and Director of Cultural Preservation to ensure the public has access to this important cultural asset of the township. I look forward to the robust schedule of community-focused programming and rental opportunities that will be made available soon. It’s important that our community never forget the collective history of our township,” said Councilwoman Jenny Mundell, Council Liaison to the Cultural Preservation Advisory Committee. “Please join us for this chance to connect with your community and discover Oakeside Mansion!”
