[ARCHIVED] Township of Bloomfield Department of Public Works and Park Maintenance to Begin Sweeping Majority...

Township of Bloomfield Department of Public Works and Park Maintenance to Begin Sweeping Majority of Posted Streets between April 6-9

The township is asking residents to move their cars from posted areas if they are able to do so.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- The Bloomfield Department of Public Works and Park Maintenance will begin street sweeping the majority of posted streets between April 6-9. The township is asking residents capable of moving their cars from posted areas to please do so as to not deter the sweeping effort.

“On April 6, we will be resuming street sweeping in the township to get rid of debris on our roads,” said Mayor Michael Venezia. “Despite the crisis that we find ourselves in, we are doing everything in our power to keep our community clean and to keep regular services functioning. I am asking that residents that are able to move their vehicles from areas where the street sweeping will be occurring to please do so, so that our crews can do the best possible job.”

Alternate side parking, meter enforcement and the 48 hour violations have all been suspended indefinitely to make parking easier for residents. With this in mind, the township hopes that it will not be too difficult for residents to temporarily relocate their vehicles for street sweeping.

Residents unable to move their vehicles will not face penalties however, it will affect the ability of the street sweepers to clean the streets. Additional parking is also available in Bloomfield Public School lots until further notice.

Additionally, the township is asking that residents dispose of plastic gloves and masks in proper garbage cans and not to leave them on the streets.
