The Bloomfield Shuttle Bus is designed to pick up resident commuters along a fixed route and transport them to the Bloomfield Station located on Lackawanna Place.

The Bloomfield Station is a stop on NJ Transit’s Montclair-Boonton Line which enables commuters a direct trip to many destinations such as Hoboken and New York.

 There are two shuttles servicing our community. The North End Shuttle travels from the north end of town to the train station via Broad St. The South End Shuttle travels along Belleville Ave and Montgomery St to the train station.

Our shuttles run Monday through Friday (except municipal holidays), on a fixed route. There are several runs in the morning beginning at 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and several in the evening starting at 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

 50 Ride Pass

In an attempt to better meet the needs of Bloomfield’s shuttle bus riders, the recreation department has slightly adjusted the fare schedule for its shuttle bus program. The new pass system will allow riders to purchase a 50 ride pass for $25. This new pass system will allow riders to use their pass anytime throughout the year; they are no longer limited to a monthly pass.

Buying a Bus Pass

Each rider is required to purchase a 50 ride pass for just $25.00 per pass. The passes are “punched” upon boarding the shuttle bus. The passes can be used anytime throughout the year and they do not expire however they are non-transferable.

Passes can be purchased at the Civic Center Monday – Friday, 830am to 430pm and Wednesday nights until 8:30pm. Cash, check or credit cards (MasterCard or Visa)

Our department urges all shuttle bus riders to “opt in” to our RAVE 911 Notification System to get up to the minute updates regarding weather, shuttle delays and potential canceled service.
