The Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department is to provide its community with diverse, year round youth, adult, senior and family orientated programs utilizing their extraordinary parks and recreation facilities. These affordable activities are to be well-supervised, age appropriate and conducted at convenient times and locations all while enhancing physical, social and cultural growth of all residents.
The Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department coordinates a wide variety of programs and events for the residents of Bloomfield.

Our programs are offered to children as early as 18 months all the way through to our senior citizen population. Some programs are seasonal but we offer a wide variety of programs throughout the year that are sure to meet your family's needs. It is truly fun for the whole family!
We provide senior citizen bus service to enable our senior population to purchase groceries and personal items. Our department also offers a shuttle service to the Bloomfield Train Station on Lackawanna Place. This train provides direct service to Hoboken and Manhattan. We have two shuttles driving to the train station daily from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. In the evening we return commuters home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at night.
Lastly, we provide a Dial-A-Ride service for our senior citizen and special needs population. This is a curb to curb service that provides free transportation to Bloomfield residents anywhere in Essex County. While rides are primarily for medical purposes, we try to accommodate other requests.
To find out more information on our transportation division, please visit the Transportation Division page or call 973-566-7194.
If that isn't enough we also offer many different special events that take place throughout the year.
