Importance
Communities that seek to create and preserve open space enhance the quality of life by providing scenic views and convenient recreation opportunities. They also attract and retain businesses and foster entrepreneurial economic development. Increased real property values and marketability are byproducts of open space preservation. Recognizing the importance of acquiring and preserving open space, the Bloomfield Township Council has established an Open Space Trust Fund and Open Space Trust Fund Committee to advise the Township Council on administering such funds.
