Immunization Audits

Audits

Public health nurses conduct immunization audits in all childcare centers and schools in the communities we serve every year.

During an immunization audit, public health nurses examine each child’s vaccine record to ensure the student has all the vaccines required by the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH).

Result Consequences

If vaccine deficiencies are discovered, the child/student will be excluded from the child care center or school until the parent/guardian provides documented proof of the child/student receiving the vaccine(s).

Recommendation

The Public Health Nursing office advises that parents or guardians bring a copy of their child’s vaccination record to the child care center or school every time their child receives immunizations from their health care provider. This ensures that the childcare center or school will always have the most recent record.
