PSE&G Infrastructure Project on Washington St & Ashland Ave Beginning Dec. 1

November 28, 2025 - BLOOMFIELD, NJ - PSE&G will begin electric reliability upgrades on or shortly after December 1, 2025, along Washington Street (between Clinton Street and Washington Place) and Ashland Avenue (between Washington Street and Linden Avenue).

Work will include necessary tree trimming and select tree removals coordinated with an arborist to maintain safe clearance around upgraded electrical equipment.

This project will replace approximately 1,300 feet of overhead wire and 11 utility poles to modernize aging infrastructure and reduce future outages. All work will be completed within existing utility rights-of-way, and crews will carry identification.

Residents may experience temporary lane or sidewalk closures and occasional planned service interruptions, with advance notice provided when possible. Work hours are generally Monday – Friday between 8:00AM – 2:00PM, with limited extended hours if required. The project is expected to continue through Spring 2026, weather permitting.

For questions about the project, please contact PSE&G at 1800-735-0067, option #2.
