July 24, 2025 - BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield Engineering Department will begin the first in a series of roadway resurfacing projects throughout the Township, starting Friday, July 25. Work will include milling (removing old pavement) and resurfacing with new asphalt. All work will be performed by Tilcon New York, Inc. of Parsippany, NJ.

Friday, July 25 – Thursday, July 31
- Ella Street (Watsessing Ave to Bloomfield Ave) – speed humps to be reinstalled
- Ward Street (Bloomfield Ave to Farrand Street)
- Farrand Street (Washington St to dead end)
- Washington Street (Glenwood Ave to Farrand St)
Monday, July 28 – Friday, August 1
- Pitt Street (Essex Ave to Broad St)
- James Street (Broad St to N. Spring St)
- Beekman Street (E. Passaic Ave to N. Spring St)
- Ridge Avenue (James St to Hoover Ave)
Wednesday, July 30 – Monday, August 4
- Ridge Avenue (James St to Hoover Ave)
- Mt. Vernon Avenue (Chapel St to Howard St)
- Howard Street (Broughton Ave to dead end)
- Bolten Place (W. Passaic Ave to Sylvan Rd)
Parking & Access Information
During construction, access to streets may be temporarily limited or closed. Police traffic directors will be on site to assist. "No Parking" signs will be posted in advance—please move your vehicle as instructed to avoid delays or suspension of work.
Residents will receive written notices when work on their street is imminent.
We appreciate your cooperation as we work to improve our roads. While this may cause short-term inconvenience, the results will provide smoother, safer streets for years to come.
