Greener Bloomfield "The Green Team"

Greener Bloomfield is a volunteer group of individuals who have been actively working as the Township of Bloomfield’s Green Team since 2009 and are interested in advancing the Township’s efforts in the Sustainable Jersey municipal certification program.

Greener Bloomfield was instrumental in the Township of Bloomfield becoming one of the first 28 municipalities in the State of New Jersey to be awarded Sustainable Jersey Bronze Level certification, bringing state-wide recognition to Bloomfield’s commitment to creating green and sustainable processes in township operations.

The continuation of the Township and Greener Bloomfield’s collaborative partnership has ensured that Bloomfield has maintained its Sustainable Jersey certification and, with it, has continued to receive public recognition for its efforts while maintaining its eligibility for the Program’s grants and resources to grow and improve our community further.

Created by the Township’s Greener Bloomfield Sustainability Committee, this map provides a visual representation of community assets as identified by community stakeholders and residents during the development process of the Township’s 2025 Master Plan and incorporates information from departmental resources previously only available as written lists. The green team committee continues to add new information and data sets through crowdsourcing initiatives and online community surveys.
