IMPORTANT ELECTION NOTICE TO UNAFFILIATED VOTERS:
Due to new state law, N.J.S.A 19:23-45, an unaffiliated voter shall not receive a mail-in ballot for a primary election.
To vote in the Primary Election of the Democratic or Republican Party by mail-in ballot, you MUST be affiliated with either the Democratic or Republican Party and not remain an unaffiliated voter.

Tuesday, May 16 is the last day to register to vote or to transfer voter registration for the PRIMARY election (Municipal Clerk’s Office, Room 214, Town Hall, is open 8:30AM-9PM).

Tuesday, May 30 is the last day to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot for the GENERAL election.

Tuesday, June 6 is PRIMARY ELECTION Day. Polls will be open from 6am-8pm

All election questions should be directed to the Municipal Clerk’s Office at (973) 680-4015.

A voter can track their ballot after it's mailed by signing onto this portal.  https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/auth/sign-in

Please take note of your Voter ID number located underneath the barcode on your ballot envelope in order to track your ballot.

How to return your Vote-By-Mail ballot:

There are two ways to return your completed ballot:

1- regular mail (postage included),

An Essex County-wide recruitment drive for college-aged residents to work as poll workers is underway. If interested, please sign up at

Secure Ballot Box location: 

A secure ballot box will be set up outside Firehouse Number #3. (124 East Passaic Avenue) You can drop off your completed ballot there 24/7.
