Bloomfield Animal Shelter/Animal Control Services

The Bloomfield Animal Shelter is a no-kill facility managed by the Township of Bloomfield.  The Township of Bloomfield provides Animal Care and Control Services to the townships of Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, Caldwell, and Nutley. 

-To report a sick or injured animal located in Bloomfield, please call the Bloomfield Police Department Non-Emergency number 973-680-4141. 

-To report a sick or injured animal located in Glen Ridge, Caldwell, or Nutley, please call the local Police Department Non-Emergency Ph# of where the animal is located. 

All general non-emergency animal complaints and sheltering questions can be directed to the Bloomfield Animal Shelter at 973-748-0194.

Hours: Effective March 2020 and until further notice, the Animal Shelter has suspended daily public adoption hours.  Adoption appointments will be scheduled for potential adopters once an adoption application has been submitted and approved.
