The Youth Aid Bureau is responsible for the investigation and successful prosecution of all matters involving a juvenile offender or juvenile victim of sexual assault.

The Youth Aid Bureau works closely with all the schools, as evident with our long standing DARE program. The DARE program active in all the elementary schools, educates the children on the dangers of drugs. At the end of the school year, the students graduate from the DARE program with a diploma and the knowledge and skills to help them make the right decisions to stay drug free. The students, school staff and DARE officers celebrate with a picnic held in a local park.

In addition to the DARE program, once the students enter the Middle and High Schools there are two officers assigned to the Bloomfield School District to help with their transition to secondary education. These officers are known as School Resource Officers. One officer works in conjunction with the High School Staff and one works in conjunction with the Middle School Staff.  These officers report to their respective schools daily. When school is not in session they work out of the Youth Aid Bureau.  These officers as well as the detectives assigned to the Youth Aid Bureau, can be seen at many school and township events, providing support and a presence , the Youth Aid Bureau also consists of crisis counselor Patricia Marchese.  Pat manages many township programs throughout the year.
