The Bloomfield Municipal Alliance Committee (BMAC) is a community-based organization that plans, coordinates and conducts alcoholism, tobacco, and other drug abuse prevention programs. Such Alliances are located in all 21 counties in New Jersey, all of which are overseen by the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and funded through Drug Enforcement Demand Reduction (DEDR) fines collected for drug-related offenses. Together, the Alliances provide more than 3,800 prevention programs statewide.
BMAC is comprised of local community leaders, school and municipal employees, a clergy member, a police department representative and private citizens who want to be involved in preventing alcohol, tobacco and drug-related problems in the township.
All BMAC meetings are held in the Health Education Division Office in the Municipal Building at 1:30 p.m. (unless otherwise noted).
