Voter Information

The General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 will be conducted mainly via vote-by-mail ballots.

Registering to vote:

The last day to register to vote, change a mailing address of an existing voter or update signatures/names WAS Tuesday, October 13, 2020.

How to Request a Second Ballot:

•    If you have not received your first ballot

•    Mistakenly threw away/misplaced your ballot

•    Accidentally made a mistake on your ballot and need to request a new one

Please complete this form and email/fax the application to the Essex County Clerk. (All information is provided on this form)


Tracking your Mail In Ballot:

A voter can track their ballot after it's mailed by signing onto this portal.  https://voter.svrs.nj.gov/auth/sign-in

Please take note of your Voter ID number located underneath the barcode on your ballot envelope in order to track your ballot.

How to return your ballot:

There are three ways to return your completed ballot:

1- regular mail (postage included),

2- a secure ballot drop box

3- Bringing it to a poll worker at your designated polling location (See list below)

Poll Workers:

An Essex County-wide recruitment drive for college-aged residents to work as poll workers is underway. If interested, please sign up at www.essexboardofelections.com. Click on the link to “Serve Essex County as a Board Worker,” download the form and e-mail it to the clerk.

Secure Ballot Box location: 

A secure ballot box will be set up outside Firehouse Number #3. (124 East Passaic Avenue) You can drop off your completed ballot there 24/7.

List of designated polling places in Bloomfield:

Voting hours will be from 6am to 8pm on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

The County will notify you of your designated polling location. If you choose to go to a polling place to cast your vote on a provisional ballot, you MUST go to the one assigned to you (it may be a different location than previous years).  Individuals with a qualifying disability will have access to an ADA-compliant voting machine.
